Peidi Wang(The Tiny Daikon)

Peidi Wang’s current works focus on detailed wildlife sculptures, balancing realism with a dash of artistic interpretation. Her use of porcelain gently reflects nature's fragility and resonates with the delicate equilibrium of ecosystems. Each piece imbues its subject with unique charm and personality through subtle expressions. Her vision is to cultivate a personal bond between the viewer and the creature, placing emphasis on the individuality of each subject.

Her practice is grounded in hand-building techniques and a continued exploration of surface development. She has focused particularly on exploring and developing unique techniques involving fiber-infused slip and organic burnout to create tactile, fur-like textures. This process is often combined with the use of engobe and controlled vitrification to produce distinct surface qualities that enhance the emotional and physical presence of each piece.
